Merle Haggard, the Okie from Muskogee defines rags to riches. His story defies the imagination and his music refuses to fit neatly into any category. Some call it country and some rock-and-roll but everyone calls it classic Americana. Haggard has nearly 40 number hits including; “Workin’ Man Blues,” “Sing Me Back Home,” and “Mamma Tried.”
